Opine O’mine……
As an investment advisor, 401(k) advisor/consultant, and financial industry observer I felt it was time to create a forum where I could “opine” on a variety of topics, some related to my profession and some not.
We are hit with so much information today from many different sources. We are overloaded with it to the point that we have become conditioned to want the quick story and not necessarily the quality analysis. This is where I want to help out in a way that deviates from the traditional canned, stuffy, boring, and rather unamusing content or commentary that is commonplace when financial professionals open their mouths, write stuff down, or send you information. Let’s face it, this is a profession that isn’t exactly full of a bunch of dazzling personalities you’d like to drink a beer with.
So, why should you consider investing your time in reading the tidbits of information I will disseminate for public consumption? I feel many of my colleagues in addition to being boring, canned, and confusing are afraid to take a position/comment on a particular issue for fear of client backlash or community banishment. Many of us in the profession are governed by various securities regulatory agencies that have very strict rules in place coupled with internal compliance constraints limiting what we can and can’t do or say. Let me be clear, I’m not going to use this forum to recommend certain investments. Rather, I want to use this forum to point out and comment on helpful information that may appear in the multitude of media I peruse on a daily basis in a somewhat constructive, edgy, witty and fun way.
I look forward to sharing my opinions with you that no one cares about! Please feel free to comment, reach out to me personally etc. as the mood strikes. Enjoy.
